Cross Country 2017 - Quick Reflection

Kia ora,

I am so impressed with all of the students from Paroa School. Those students in Room 7 and 8 that were given the responsibility of marshalling, all stepped up and helped the younger runners have a great time. You all showed how caring you are, by supporting all the runners. Seeing 12-year-old kids guiding the 5-year-olds around the course was inspirational.

A highlight for me was seeing a runner that always has some spare energy at the end of our daily runs, collapse at the end, panting and gasping for breathe. They knew that they had given their absolute best.

Thank you to all those parents, children, teachers and others that helped make the event possible.

Cheers,

Mr McAulay

  1. Kia Ora, my name is Mr Riceman and I am a teacher in Te Waka Ako at Waikowhai Primary School. I really like the way that you shared such specific information when you were posting about this event. It made me think of last year when we had our school cross country and our leadership team wore their bright orange shirts to help guide our juniors around the course too. Have you thought about including some ideas from the kids and what they like about the cross country day? If you would like to see my learning, my blog is http://www.wpsriceman.blogspot.co.nz.

    1. Kia ora, Margaret. Some of the students are making a video at the moment of all the footage from the cross country. Check back in the next day or so, and it should be on this blog.

      Cheers,

      Mr McAulay
